One of the things you should do as a vegitarian is to learn what complimentry proteins are. Most vegitarians don't get enough protein in their diet. A protein is a combination of essential amino acids. If you are missing even one of those essential amino acids in that food, it is almost worthless as a protein. Some foods are really low in certain amino acids, but really high in others. Find foods that compliment each other. For instance, rice is really low in the amino acid Lysine. Beans are really high in lysine but low in another amino acid that rice is high in. Together they make a complimentry protein. The link to that website will help you find some of these complimentry proteins.
There is a great book that I feel all vegitarians should have. It's called 'diet for a small planet.' It's been around forever and is an amazing resource for nutrition as a vegitarian. You can find it very cheap at Amazon.com and it would benefit you greatly. It will help you understand why being a vegitarian is good, and will help you find the deficiencies in your diet.
